Buddharatana Monastery of Australia is situated in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, about 2 1/2 hours by road from Gold Coast or Brisbane, Queensland. It is in the mountainous part of NSW, the location is peaceful, serene, and the air is fresh, it is a rare meditation Monastery.

This Monastery has opened its door on 15 May 2011 to domestic and international buddhist meditators to come and learn the Buddhist meditation techniques and ways of coping with the up and down in life, and find the path to freedom of suffering. The Buddhist Council of Victoria is a representative body that acts on behalf of Buddhists in the Australian state of Victoria. It is actively engaged in representing the needs of Buddhists to all levels of government, provides speakers for interfaith dialogue and works widely with the community.

It has approximately 40 member temples and has been in operation since 1995. The Committee is elected annually from delegates from the member temples. Principal activities including the introduction of Buddhist education into primary schools and chaplaincy for Buddhist prisoners. Tuesday Evening Meditation or Buddhism Class (7-9pm) is a series of courses that combine theoretical exploration of Buddhist teachings with guided meditation practices.

Wednesday Lotus Buds Sangha Meditation Class (7:30pm) is a Buddhist group led by the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh (a Zen monk) who has lived in the west for the past forty years. Beginners are most welcome.

Thursday Power Yoga and Meditation (6:30pm) is an “hour of power” combines the practices of mindful body movements through yoga and meditation, suitable for intermediate practitioners.

Saturday Yoga and Meditation (10-11:30am) provide a gentle introduction to both physical and mental yoga for those who want to learn how to clam the mind, beginners are welcome.

Chenrezig Institute is a centre for Buddhist study, meditation, retreat, and practice nestled in the foothills of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland in Queensland, Australia.

Established in 1974 Chenrezig Institute was the first Tibetan Buddhist centre in the Western World and remains one of the largest.

Today, the Institute is home to a Tibetan Geshe (Lama), a large community of ordained Sangha (nuns and monks), students, residents, volunteers, retreatants, and guests.
