The Ariya Magga Buddhist Missionary Society (AMBMS) is organized and incorporated under the laws of the state of Iowa as a non-profit religious organization. We operate the Airya Magga Vihara – in English, “Noble Path House” – for the practice of the Noble Eightfold Path – a centuries old program which, if followed, will markedly improve the quality of your life. AMBMS programs include talks, daily meditation (sittings), courses and workshops on integrating practice into daily life, and the occasional meditation “intensive” – a one, two or several day facilitated opportunity for more intensive practice.

She is currently translating the Taisho Edition of the Mahayana Chinese Tripitaka from Chinese to English and will always welcome your emails, calls and visits.  

Conversations in English work better for making exact arrangements for hospice, hospital, funeral and scheduling appointments for counselling, meditation classes or workshops, services and traditional Buddhist services. Services are offered in Chinese and English with instruction in English.

This temple is a hermitage for the purpose of translating the Mahayana Chinese Tripitaka.  It's only by appointment that you may meet the master, Ven. Hongyang. She available for traditional Buddhist services, Dharma Talks on Buddhism or its practices, celebrations, Baby Blessings, Home Blessings, Business Blessings, Refuge and Five Precepts (to become Buddhist), Bodhisattva precepts, Weddings, Funerals, and counseling. Periodically other monastics may be invited to give dharma talks and a larger space will be provided for bigger groups at that time.  Small group dharma study programs for women, women interested in monastic life, and dharma instruments will be offered to mixed groups.  At this time men interested in monastic life will be referred to other temples.

Dizang-Qi Buddhism Club is for those who are interested in Buddhism cultivation. Our cultivation is based on the basic theories of Dharma and Buddhism. Key concepts include "the law of cause and effect", the "five precepts" and "ten good conducts". The teachings come from the Pure Land school of Buddhism and utilizes six steps of cultivation which are tools that enable meditation and peace of mind:1. Being Vegetarian 2. Chanting the Sutra of the Past Vows of the Earth Store Bodhisattva 3. Prostrating in accordance with the "Eighty-Eight Repentance Ceremony" 4. Releasing and feeding animals 5. Conducting one good deed a day 6. Reciting the name of the Amitabha Buddha. As we cultivate together, participants will have a good basic understanding of Buddhism and have the tools necessary to embark on becoming a buddhist practitioner if they decide to pursue this path. At the least, participants will have experience a nice break from daily life and a relaxing day getaway a peaceful environment.
