The Vimala Sangha (Vimala Zen Center) is a Buddhist group based in Mill Valley, California, under the spiritual guidance of Buddhist teacher Lew Richmond. It takes its name from Vimalakirti, the householder whose wisdom was said to surpass that of all the Buddha's other great disciples.


Vimala Sangha's forms of practice and methods of inquiry are illuminated by the American experience, and respectful of all the teachings and schools of Buddhism.

Wat Buddhadhammadharo (or a.k.a Wat Concord) is a Theravada Buddhist monastery with a forest tradition monastery and a branch monastery of Asokaram temple of Thailand.  

The monastery has monks and missionary monks to conduct the teaching of lord Buddha, by abiding by Vinaya Pitaka (Precepts) and rules of Dhammayut Sangha of USA as its management philosophy. The abbot would be the lead in supervising and manage the development of all activities of the monastery. Other monks would assist and support to improve the organization efficiency. The main religious practice duty is as follows

10:30AM                          Food offering to monastic members 

06:30 PM-8:30 PM            Evening service and meditation (Open to public, daily)

Wat Thai of Los Angeles is the oldest Thai Buddhist monastery in America, and one of the largest centers for Thai Buddhism outside of Thailand.  Meditation courses are currently held in the meditation hall behind the main monastery grounds and meditators stay in the houses owned by the monastery.

Yokoji-Zen Mountain Center is a Zen Buddhist Training and Retreat Center located in the beautiful wilderness of the San Jacinto Mountains of Southern California.

Founded in 1981 by Taizan Maezumi Roshi as a summer retreat center for the Zen Center of Los Angeles, it is now a year-round Zen Center for residents and non-residents under the direction of the abbot, Tenshin Fletcher Roshi.

Yokoji-Zen Mountain Center is open to people in all spiritual traditions and walks of life who would like to experience the life changing practice of meditation. We offer a regular daily schedule, introductory weekends, silent meditation retreats (sesshin) ranging from 2 to 7 days, and two intensive training periods a year. Yokoji has grown up over the years, from a small collection of temporary buildings with a tent for a Zendo, into the fully fledged international Training Center of today - and a continuous cycle of year-round training has been maintained since 1995.
